Crystal D'Esprit


I began my musical journey at the tender age of seven, classically trained on the flute and joining county and national orchestras as a child. This early immersion in music laid the foundation for a diverse and accomplished career in music composition, songwriting, and sound design.

With extensive experience spanning orchestral, electronic music production, jazz, pop, and rock, I explore numerous genres creating versatility.

​

In 2023, I was honoured with the Emerging Composer of the Year finalist award at the Apulia Soundtrack Awards. Additionally, winning the "Foley the World" competition. 

​

Key highlights of my career include composing my first symphony, having my first produced song recognised by Universal Digital in 2006, and learning from renowned composers such as Simon Franglen of the Avatar series

and Cyril Morin in Italy in 2023 in Masterclasses.

​

Academically, I hold a foundation degree in Creative Audio Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Sound for Games and Apps, complemented by early ABRSM exams in Flute performance and theory. 

​

Operating from a well-equipped Mac-based studio, I utilise various softwares including Logic Pro X, enabling me to record and use Foley and sound design techniques, to create unique textures and sounds. I'm also proficient in implementing these elements in game engines like Unity and Unreal, using middleware such as FMOD and Wwise as well as using PureData and Max/MSP.

I can orchestrate notation for a full symphony orchestra and  use sound libraries to be able to adapt to different budgets without compromising on quality and craftsmanship.
